Roger Fayd'herbe (Mauritius) - Interactive Pest Solution Finder

Roger Fayd'herbe (Mauritius) has developed a low cost interactive pest solution finder. Aimed at farmers or any hobbyist the led illuminated panel can be used to identify pest affecting one's crop and thereon get information on its management.

While there is a frenzy to develop expensive and heavily technology based interactive packages we welcome Roger Fayd'herbe initiative. Moreover, we stress that such systems should favour IPM rather than use of pesticides. We therefore encourage institutions to build on this concept for training and educational purposes on Good Agricultural Practices.

How this one works:
(i) You have photos of pests and its management information on a poster
(ii) Minute switches are found at each pest level. When press, the management information is illuminated. Obviously, at the back, some wiring is required to match each pest photo with its solution.
