MAISNET Member retained for an advanced training on blogs and Web 2.0 for development in Ghana

In July 2010, we published news of an essay competition organised by the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA), in collaboration with FARA, Yam-Pukri, CAFAN, AYF, ANAFE and  PAFPNET. The essay theme was “Youth and ICTs in Agriculture and Rural Development”.You can read more on it by clicking here.

We are pleased (& proud) to announce that our MAISNET Member and Blog Contributor, Miss. Nawsheen Hosenally participated in the competition and got hold of the 1,500 Euros ... Well .. almost ..

In fact, she has been selected by the organisers to follow and 'Advanced training on blogs and Web 2.0 for development'. That's not all, she is also retained for another course on 'Challenges of youth in ARD using ICT''. Both programmes are scheduled for 2011 in Ghana over a total of 5 days (3 + 2).

Nawsheen is still a student at the Faculty of Agriculture (University of Mauritius) and such accomplishment is not only remarkable but also very promising. The exposure she will get will certainly help shape her career and personality.

Finally, it's worth noting how ICT is gaining momentum in disciplines such as Agriculture. From mobile technologies to Web 2.0, photography to media development, just name it... You will certainly recall that we advertised events and call for papers on ICT/Web 2.0. We shall keep you posted on new opportunities and may be there might be other success stories...
