The MauriGAP will cover 3 levels, the 3rd one being comparable to international norms. An appeal has been made to all stakeholders to collaborate in order to make Mauritius move in the right direction - that is produce food of quality and safe - and along same line push further towards natural farming.
A certification agency, namely the Mauritius Agricultural Certification Body has been setup under the aegis of the Ministry of Agro Industry and Food Security to certify farmers who have passed auditing exercises. The FAREI is actively training farmers on GAP / MauriGAP.
