The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA) and its partners are pleased to announce that submission for the 2nd Edition of the YoBloCo Awards is now open! Launched in October 2013 at the Caribbean Week of agriculture in Guyana, the YoBloCo Awards have attracted the attention of many agriculture bloggers across ACP countries.
Blogs will be submitted via the newly created website for the YoBloCo Awards (http://www.yobloco.info/) from today. Upon submission of a blog, each participant will have a profile page that will be visible to the public. To make the experience more exciting, participants will be able to share their blogs via social media networks (Facebook, Twitter) and also add the YoBloCo Awards' badge to their blogs.
As described in the announcement of the competition, the YoBloCo Awards will take place in several stages. The blogs submitted will undergo public voting and comments, from which finalists will be selected. A jury will then evaluate the finalists’ blogs and select the winners. However, the institutional category is only open for comments. The jury will directly select winners for that category but they will also take into account the public comments.
This second edition of the competition will award several special prizes, including the Best Blog on Family Farming to celebrate the United Nations’ International Year of Family Farming (2014) and the best female blog.
Agricultural bloggers aged between 18-35 years from ACP (African, Caribbean and Pacific) countries are highly encouraged to submit their blogs as soon as they can. Even if the blog is not completely ready or does not have many articles, it is recommended not to wait for the last day to submit the blog.
All blogs (individual and institutional) can be submitted from 11 December until 31 January 2014 on this link: http://www.yobloco.info/enter-competition. On that page, select the category in which you want to submit your blog.
For institutional blogs, additional information on the organisation have to be provided. Kindly check well all the documents needed before submitting your entry!
